Role Summary
The Telecom Operations Support Analyst is responsible for managing telecom financial operations, vendor performance, billing accuracy, and service inventories across voice, data, and wireless environments. This role supports complex billing structures, multimilliondollar budgets, and highvolume transactions while driving cost efficiency, service optimization, and operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage telecom expense and contract management practices for voice, data, and cellular services
- Support endtoend telecom lifecycle vendor management
- Manage complex telecom billing environments and support multimilliondollar budget oversight
- Perform wireless, data, and voice service optimization and vendor contract analysis
- Benchmark wireless rates, ensure quality control, and conduct periodic inventory management
- Manage and support global billing processes across multiple telecom vendors
- Measure, monitor, and analyze carrier performance against established service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Manage and monitor Telecom Expense Management (TEM) vendor performance to defined SLAs
- Maintain accurate records of mobility, data, and voice services inventory, accounts, and invoices
- Analyze telecom invoices for audits, disputes, adjustments, approvals, and payments
- Perform monthly or quarterly vendor invoice reviews to ensure adherence to contracts or statements of work
- Interface with TEM service providers to align monthly budget spend, accruals, issue resolution, and account performance
- Conduct costbenefit analyses to consolidate and streamline existing and new operations
- Identify costsavings opportunities through historical spend analysis and utilization reporting
- Track and validate billing data accuracy to eliminate errors and discrepancies
- Serve as a liaison between internal employees and telecom vendors to resolve service, operational, and billing inquiries
- Collaborate with internal departments and business units to ensure clear communication on timelines, issues, and deliverables
- Operate effectively in a highvolume transaction environment requiring strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
OR - Advanced degree with a minimum of 5–6 years of experience in the telecom industry and/or Telecom Expense Management
- Experience in telecom financial analysis and accounts payable processes
- Strong background in telecom billing, auditing, dispute resolution, and invoice reconciliation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Tableau, including large data set manipulation, pivot tables, and lookup functions
- Proven ability to manage vendor performance and servicelevel compliance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced, highvolume environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting global telecom operations with multiple carriers
- Handson experience working with Telecom Expense Management platforms and service providers
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering telecom costreduction initiatives
- Experience supporting large enterprise or multisite telecom environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work crossfunctionally with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
