Supplier QC Inspector

Icon Information Consultants Houston, TX (Onsite) Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated SQC Inspector to join our team at our Houston location, supporting the quality assurance of high-value equipment and projects within the industrial gas industry. This role offers the chance to work onsite in a dynamic environment, traveling domestically and internationally, and playing a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and execute supplier quality control activities, ensuring purchased equipment meets all purchase order, code, and specification requirements.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive Inspection & Expediting Plans, evaluating manhours and costs to support project success.
  • Perform inspections based on approved strategies, focusing on CTQ parameters to guarantee equipment conformity.
  • Act as the primary contact for US inspection assignments, collaborating with third-party agencies and global teams to ensure seamless quality assurance processes.
  • Support manufacturing, control, and certification issues, providing expertise to resolve quality challenges.
  • Participate in process improvements, standardization, and knowledge capitalization efforts to enhance quality management practices.
  • Travel approximately 30-40%, domestically and internationally, to supplier sites and project locations, often on short notice.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 10 years of quality control experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing and project execution within the industrial gas or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of US construction codes (ASME, API, AWS, AISC, IBC), fabrication processes, nondestructive testing, materials, welding, and industrial gas equipment.
  • Preferred certifications include API 510, 570, 653, and AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing, project management, and fabrication processes.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, capable of managing complex projects and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in using Google Workspace tools, SAP, SRM, and Non-Conformities Management systems.
