• Act as a designer-developer hybrid, providing SME-level guidance on design and development decisions for high-visibility initiatives
• Create semantic, accessible HTML that meets WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 compliance standards
• Design, build, and support a customer-facing design system, including reusable components, templates, defect remediation, and accessibility enhancements
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and product teams throughout the SDLC
• Develop responsive web and mobile interfaces using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or jQuery
• Build reusable, responsive, and interactive UI patterns and component libraries aligned with W3C standards for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Participate in UX strategy development, usability reviews, and data-driven validation of design decisions
• Maintain design artifacts including wireframes, mockups, and design files
• Conduct and support usability testing and accessibility reviews
• Remain current on UI/UX trends, tools, accessibility standards, and emerging front-end technologies
• Support accessibility monitoring and remediation using enterprise scanning tools (e.g., Siteimprove or similar platforms)
• Interpret accessibility scan results and implement code-level remediation across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component frameworks
• Provide guidance to designers, developers, and content authors on accessibility best practices
Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in front-end web application development
• Strong programming experience with at least one of the following: Java, JavaScript, React, Vue, or Angular
• Experience working within modern technology stacks (LAMP, MEAN, or MERN)
• Proven experience translating end-user needs into conceptual and detailed UI/UX design solutions
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
• Experience applying human-centered design (HCD) techniques, including research, design, and usability testing

• Prior experience in the electric and gas utility industry
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe DXP, SharePoint, and WordPress CMS platforms
• Strong focus on digital accessibility with demonstrated experience achieving WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
• Experience using accessibility scanning tools such as Siteimprove, Silktide, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with document accessibility remediation for Microsoft Office files and PDFs
