Contract Administrator
Key Responsibilities
-
Assist with the preparation, amendment, execution, and administration of transmission contracts and agreements.

Develop working knowledge of OATT requirements and applicable federal regulations.

Support Contract Managers and cross-functional teams on strategic and regulatory initiatives, including those related to the Carolinas One Utility merger.

Perform routine administrative and analytical tasks to support strategic business initiatives.
-
Maintain accurate contract data and reporting within contract management and tracking systems.

Communicate project status, risks, and issues to team members and management in a timely manner.

Build familiarity with system operations and understand how decisions impact customers and transmission/distribution operations.

Maintain organized documentation and records to support all contract and compliance processes.

Exercise sound judgment when working independently and escalate risks or barriers appropriately with mitigation recommendations.

Demonstrate strong collaboration, active listening, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Basic / Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; or
High School diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience. -
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and business computer systems.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing business needs.

Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
-
General knowledge of the utility industry, Bulk Electric Systems (BES), and wholesale electric markets.
Preferred Qualifications
-
NERC Certified System Operator (Reliability level).
-
Knowledge of Duke Energy generation assets, transmission systems, and operating procedures.

Familiarity with FERC, NERC, SERC, and RFC standards and transmission operations practices.

Experience with RTOs (e.g., MISO, PJM).

Prior experience applying contract management fundamentals to support decision-making.

Ability to work effectively with challenging stakeholders and customers.

Strong organizational, planning, and self-management skills.
-
Experience working in project-based or self-directed team environments.
-
Proficiency with OATI OASIS and advanced Microsoft Office tools.
-
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
-
Knowledge of transmission and customer delivery business processes.
