Data Scientist (AI/ML) – Remote (Preferred States Only)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (local time)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (Based on Performance)

Job Summary

This role analyzes, cleans, and validates data to improve model accuracy and support AI-driven initiatives across healthcare domains. The Data Scientist will develop and deploy advanced machine learning models and AI solutions, leveraging large datasets to drive meaningful business decisions. Responsibilities include executing statistical experiments, building predictive models, and applying modern AI methodologies such as agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, and model fine-tuning.




Key Responsibilities

Required Experience (PhD or equivalent experience):
• Perform data analysis and extract meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making
• Design, develop, and train machine learning models using supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
• Implement agentic workflows that use AI agents for autonomous task execution
• Utilize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns to enhance language model performance
• Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific tasks or datasets
• Clean, preprocess, and validate data to ensure accuracy and uniformity
• Deploy AI models into production and monitor performance for quality and effectiveness
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and analysts to integrate AI solutions
• Conduct research and stay updated on advancements in AI and machine learning
• Document methodologies, results, and model performance; communicate findings to non-technical audiences
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists
• Partner with business and technology teams to build ML models supporting star ratings, care gap reduction, and similar business objectives
• Present complex analytical findings clearly across all audience levels
• Assign and manage analytical project delivery when partnering with the analytics team
• Identify technology and data-driven solution opportunities as business needs evolve
• Use a variety of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry trends




Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Data Scientist (healthcare preferred, but strong experience in other industries considered)
• Strong programming skills in Python and R
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
• Understanding of relational database concepts and SDLC processes
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to structure unorganized problems
• Knowledge of agentic workflows and autonomous AI operations
• Experience with RAG techniques to enhance AI outputs
• Proven experience in model fine-tuning for specific tasks and performance needs
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solution development




Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure AI Studio
• Familiarity with natural language processing or computer vision technologies
