Technical Program Manager (TPM) HCM Transformation (Contract)
About the Role:
This role will support the Omaha Program, a large-scale enterprise HCM transformation focused on migrating from Workday to Oracle HCM. The TPM contractor will play a critical role in driving execution across integrations, data migration, configuration, and end-to-end testing to ensure program milestones are met. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong technical depth and cross-functional coordination.
About the Team
You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Payroll, Data Migration, and external vendors (Oracle, Client) within a highly matrixed PeopleTech organization. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with parallel workstreams and tight regulatory and payroll-driven timelines.
What Youll Do
- Drive execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives within the Omaha HCM transformation program
- Own program planning, dependency management, and execution tracking across integrations, configuration, data migration, and testing workstreams
- Partner with Product Managers and Functional Leads to build and maintain sprint plans, milestone plans, and execution scorecards
- Track and manage RAID (Risks, Issues, Actions, Decisions) and ensure timely escalation of blockers
- Coordinate integration testing (E2E, payroll-dependent runs, retesting) and align readiness across teams
- Work closely with Engineering and Data Migration teams to distinguish true product defects from data or configuration issues
- Facilitate cross-team forums, status reviews, and executive-level updates with clear, concise summaries
- Ensure Jira hygiene, accurate status reporting, and timely follow-ups on action items
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Experience
6+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role
3+ years supporting large-scale enterprise systems implementations (HCM, ERP, Payroll, or Finance platforms)
Required Skills / Experience
Strong experience managing cross-functional technical programs involving integrations and data dependencies
Proven ability to manage execution across multiple parallel workstreams with tight timelines
Experience working with payroll-critical or compliance-sensitive systems
Ability to translate technical issues into clear business impact for stakeholders and leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for executive-level status reporting
Tools / Applications
Jira
Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Experience working with integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft) and data migration cycles
Familiarity with Workday, Oracle HCM, or similar enterprise SaaS platforms (hands-on or program-level)
Certifications
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification (preferred but not required)
