Sr. Cost Analyst
Position Overview
Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is responsible for leading and managing the current implementation of a proper costing system, primarily focused on coating operations within Tuboscope’s Corrosion Control Plants.
The position will lead the implementation of the Cost Configurator module within JDE to enhance cost accuracy, margin visibility, and financial decision-making across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead implementation and ongoing support of the Cost Configurator module in JDE

Partner with Plant Leadership to support financial analysis and operational decision-making
-
Drive accuracy and integrity of job costing standards, including annual and ad-hoc cost roll exercises

Ensure integrity of Work Order processing (material issues, labor postings, variance analysis)

Analyze and monitor WIP and outside process clearing accounts

Prepare and analyze month-end reporting including variance analysis and OEE performance

Review plant processes including:
-
Purchased parts cost verification
-
Router development
-
Overhead cost validation
-
Labor rate verification
-

Lead annual budget and rolling forecasts (Hours, Headcount, Direct & Indirect Production Expenses)

Perform SOX compliance duties (WIP reconciliation, subledger aging, inventory reconciliation, segregation of duties)

Review Balance Sheet and P&L accounts; provide detailed variance explanations

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to plant and operations leadership

Support continuous improvement of costing and financial processes
Technical Competencies
-
Advanced Excel skills (required)
-
Strong knowledge of accounting theory and manufacturing cost principles
-
Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems related to job costing
-
Hyperion & SmartView experience preferred

Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing accounting controls

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
-
Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required
