Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in mechanical inspection for aerospace, manufacturing, or similar industries. The ideal candidate will perform product inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process for turbo expanders. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced shop floor environment and demonstrate the ability to interpret blueprints and use precision inspection tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain inspection tools and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Follow all prescribed safety rules and regulations.

Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections in the machine shop and assembly areas.

Inspect incoming parts, including castings, forgings, and finished components.

Conduct source inspections at local vendors when required.

Support quality-related functions such as:

Red tag creation for rejected parts

Turbo final web-order inspection

Coordination with supplier quality engineers

Occasional travel to supplier sites for inspections or audits

5S maintenance in the inspection area

Education:
-
High School diploma or GED required
-
Associate’s Degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology, or related field is desirable
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting materials and mechanical parts in high-speed machinery industries such as turbines, turbo expanders, compressors, or rotating equipment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret production travelers, blueprints, procedures, and industrial standards

Proficient in ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Skilled in using a variety of inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, plug/ring gauges, profilometers, and thickness gauges

NDE Liquid Penetrant Level II certification (ASNT or equivalent) highly desired; Level I with sufficient supervised hours considered

Weld inspection capability (pre, in-process, post); CWI certification is a plus or must be willing to obtain

Proficiency in MS Office, MRP systems, and engineering drawing databases

Experience in pump, turbo expander, or cryogenic industries is a plus but not required
