HEDIS Medical Record Collector

Position Overview:

***** Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Medical Records Collector to join our team. This role will be responsible for outreaching to healthcare providers to collect medical records for various audits and medical record projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as experience in the collection, organization, and uploading of medical records into internal databases.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Record Collection & Upload: Reach out to providers via phone, fax, mail, or electronic medical record systems to collect medical records for audits and other medical record projects. Ensure timely and accurate upload of collected records into the internal database.

  • Provider Outreach: Collaborate with providers and vendors to coordinate the retrieval of medical records, including direct onsite pick-up when necessary.

  • Project Management Support: Assist in the coordination and preparation of medical record collection processes by working closely with the Manager, Supervisor(s), and other Medical Record staff.

  • Data Management: Organize and track the identification, pursuit, collection, and upload of provider medical records and other relevant data.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Participate in meetings with vendors to facilitate the medical record collection process.

  • Reporting: Collect medical records and reports from provider offices and ensure the data is uploaded into the Medical Record application accurately.



Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent



Required Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in medical record collection

  • At least 1 year of managed care experience



Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in medical record data collection



Key Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills to facilitate outreach and collaboration with healthcare providers and vendors

  • Proficient in the use of medical record systems and databases

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and data management best practices

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive medical records

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

This position requires the candidate to be located in or near the San Diego, CA area.
