Location: St. Petersburg, FL (Regional HQ) / Flexibility for Lake Mary
Work Environment: Hybrid Field Role (Occasional Office Presence)**
Position Overview
The Investigator will support Duke Energy Florida by responding to emergent security requests and incidents across the region. This is a predominantly field-based role requiring close coordination with contract security officers, local law enforcement, first responders, and internal Enterprise Security teams. The Investigator provides timely updates to the CSI Manager and the Enterprise Security Command Center (ESCC), while partnering with senior investigators to support Enterprise Protective Services (EPS) activities such as Investigations, Liaison, Intelligence Collection, and Physical Security Operations.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct investigations and inquiries, including field interviews and detailed report writing.

Review and assess video footage, badge activity, and basic background information.

Respond to ongoing security issues and provide related administrative follow-through.

Perform site assessments (e.g., homeless camps), establish trespass agreements with law enforcement, and install temporary surveillance cameras (may require ladder use up to 8 ft. and lifting up to 40 lbs).

Travel between sites using a company-provided light-duty truck or SUV.

Wear required PPE such as eye/ear protection, hard hat, safety boots, and FR clothing (provided by client).

Work primarily in the field with occasional office or remote work as needed.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of investigative experience, preferably within federal, state, or local law enforcement (detective-level or investigative unit roles).
Note: Patrol-only or security guard experience does not meet requirements. -
Strong investigative capabilities with demonstrated experience partnering with law enforcement or similar agencies.

Ability to work independently in the field while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
