Contract Manager
Position Summary
The Contract Manager is accountable for the full lifecycle management of proposals and contracts, ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational alignment across the organization. This position oversees contract development standards, bidding and submission processes, negotiations, and document governance. The role requires close collaboration with clinical operations, project management, account management, business operations, finance, procurement, and legal to support strategic goals and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and administer new and existing materials and services contracts.
• Analyze and document trends in contract development, negotiation, and execution to support continuous improvement and optimized spend.
• Own and manage contract accruals, including review of annual budget forms, financial validation, and preparation of spend and trend reports.
• Develop and refine work processes for increased efficiency and provide operational and management support across all levels, including executive leadership.
• Consult with management to resolve supplier performance issues and procedural conflicts.
• Prepare monthly reporting for all contracts, including documents, reports, memos, charts, graphs, and tables.
• Implement contract modifications and amendments as required.
• Oversee contract administration, including change orders, invoice processing, closeout procedures, and performance assessments.
• Provide management reporting related to procurement and compliance.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support shared goals.
• Obtain, review, and communicate supplier performance reports to support contract oversight.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Risk Management, and business partners to develop contracts and negotiate key terms and conditions.
• Assess cost implications and risks associated with contract provisions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
• Expert-level subject matter understanding with potential limited supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments in a fast-paced setting.
• Capable of evaluating alternatives and recommending optimal solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for all levels of the organization.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and competency in mathematical calculations.
• Able to operate with minimal supervision while consulting on complex or unusual matters.
• Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work across various environments, including power plants, construction sites, and office locations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree.
• Significant experience in financial and operational analytical support.
• Strong background in application administration.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Project.
• Experience supporting utility construction or maintenance environments.
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
