Director of Finance - Rig Capital Equipment

Job Summary
An established global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead financial planning, analysis, and accounting support for a large-scale capital equipment business. This leadership position will play a key role in driving forecasting, reporting, and strategic insights to support growth, profitability, and operational excellence across multiple business units.
 
It is Critical for the Ideal Candidate to Have the Following:

  • Strong background working within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement automation and data visualization initiatives in current or recent roles.
  • Demonstrated experience driving projects to completion, with clear examples of leadership contributions.
  • Supervisory experience, including direct management of professional staff.
  • Experience partnering with Operations and senior executive leadership (Sr. VP or VP-level) to support decision-making and strategic goals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently discuss prior work experience and business impact.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of project accountants, cost accountants, and financial analysts supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Oversee all FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for complex global operations and long-term projects.
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results versus forecast to executive leadership, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations and Regional leaders to develop annual plans, adjust forecasts, and analyze profitability by product line and geography.
  • Manage project accounting and ensure accurate revenue recognition under percentage-of-completion accounting standards.
  • Provide data-driven analytics and scenario modeling to identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Lead initiatives to improve accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of financial reporting.
  • Implement and enhance systems, tools, and processes to streamline forecasting, project tracking, and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects, offering financial leadership and strategic insights to guide decision-making.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounting and/or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal financial controls.
  • Proven success collaborating with senior leadership and influencing business outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Hyperion Financial Management and/or Oracle preferred.
  • Experience leading process improvement and automation initiatives using tools such as Alteryx, Power Query, or Power BI.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
