Position Overview

The Buyer II plays a critical role in supporting supply chain and procurement operations for advanced engineering and manufacturing programs. This position manages supplier relationships, executes sourcing strategies, and ensures timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and components that meet quality, performance, and compliance requirements. The Buyer II owns the full procurement lifecycle—from requisition creation through invoice payment—and partners closely with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.




Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct suppliers and internal stakeholders to support production and development programs.

  • Ensure program requirements are prioritized and executed to meet operational schedules and business objectives.

  • Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs, perform price analyses, and develop negotiation strategies.

  • Construct and manage procurement contracts, including long-range agreements and sourcing partnerships.

  • Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, resolving issues from requisition to final payment.

  • Lead identification, negotiation, and execution of strategic supplier agreements (e.g., LTAs).

  • Support organizational procurement strategies and ensure alignment with broader company objectives.

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of production materials that meet technical and quality standards.




Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field with 5+ years of supply chain experience,
    or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong background in procurement and supplier management.

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government contracting principles.

  • Experience negotiating and managing multiple contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF).

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach with the ability to establish and track performance metrics.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and familiarity with engineering data such as specifications and source control drawings.




Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of Avionics or Fluids components.

  • Familiarity with ITAR/EAR export regulations.

  • Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP.

  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint, Jira, and SharePoint.
