Salary: Starting at $290,000+
Overview
A leading healthcare system is seeking Inpatient Psychiatrists to provide psychiatric care within a structured correctional healthcare environment. Physicians will provide inpatient psychiatric services to an underserved patient population while working in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Correctional inpatient mental health facility
Rusk, TX
Correctional inpatient mental health facility (higher compensation potential due to rural location)
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned inpatient patients

Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological evaluations
-
Participate in civil commitment proceedings for patients being released from custody
-
Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric mid-level providers as assigned
-
Participate in due process hearings related to voluntary admission and psychoactive medication administration

Participate in psychiatry quality improvement programs
-
Provide emergency psychiatric call coverage as required

Work collaboratively with clinical teams and utilization review personnel

Maintain compliance with all departmental policies and reporting requirements
Work Environment
This role is located within a secure correctional healthcare facility.
Requirements include:

Required Qualifications

Active Texas Medical License
-
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry

DEA Controlled Substances Registration
Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of psychiatric clinical experience

Experience working with electronic medical records
