Maintenance Technician

Icon Information Consultants Cambridge, MD (Onsite) Full-Time


Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with and actively support all Airgas Specialty Gases safety, health, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance activities at the Calgaz Cambridge facility.

  • Partner with the Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, and Regional Operations Director to maintain maintenance plans, schedules, and execution strategies.

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) work orders on time and to standard.

  • Oversee and coordinate onsite contractors and vendors performing maintenance or project-related work.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to source contractor and vendor services as needed.

  • Accurately document and track maintenance activities using the Intelex system.

  • Ensure compliance with all IMS/QMS guidelines and maintenance-related requirements.

  • Support and assist with engineering projects at the Calgaz Cambridge facility, as required.

  • Recommend and help implement maintenance program improvements in coordination with ASG team members.

  • Coordinate with plant personnel to minimize production impact during maintenance or project activities.

  • Support the Production Team with manufacturing of HBCs and transfill orders as needed.

  • Assist the Production Team by providing coverage during employee vacations or absences.




Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial plant maintenance preferred.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within a production plant environment.

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing pumps, vacuums, valves, piping, and compressors; cryogenic liquid pump experience preferred.

  • Ability to understand and comply with quality systems and report quality deficiencies.

  • Ability to understand and follow all safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English and ability to perform basic arithmetic.

  • Proficient with computers and maintenance systems (Intelex, MS Word, Excel, Google tools).

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 50%.

  • PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
